Meet Harbor Builders’ President and Founder, Ezra Hercenberg
Ezra grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland and has been surrounded by the housing industry for most of his life. Ezra started his contracting career in Baltimore, where he later founded Harbor Builders. Ezra developed the unique building/bidding process and custom construction/business database that Harbor implements on every project. These specialized business systems differentiate Harbor from all other contracting firms of its size. Ezra has a general contractor’s license in both Maryland and Washington DC, and has grown the company tremendously since it was formed in 2008.
Ezra is joined by an incredible team of in-house estimators, project managers, and field supervisors, who help to ensure that the construction process runs smoothly both in the office, and out in the field.

1. Preconstruction Phase
We meet with you to understand every detail of what you want, and what your budget will allow. A prospective budget for the project is prepared and reviewed with you.
4. On-site Meeting & Bids
Our team conducts an on-site “Q&A” session with subcontractors and suppliers. We coordinate our proprietary bid submissions for competitive pricing on your project.
2. Procure Architectural Drawings
With your input, we will help find your project the right architect who can produce Construction Documents for your project. By detailing the drawings, we prevent costly delays and unexpected surprises for you down the road.
5. Finalize Budget & Timeline
Timeline estimates are entered into our Project Scheduling tool. We know how long the project will take, and can predict and avoid potential points of delay. Being on time is always our #1 priority.
3. Select Products & Materials
A meeting takes place in our show room, or in your designer’s show room, where you view different options of products and materials. You get to fully customize your project.
6. Project Scheduling & Construction
We use sophisticated project management software to create a custom schedule for your project. We are able to pinpoint at any given moment what is happening on your project, and what will happen next.
We specialize in everything from single-family homes to multi-family apartments to large multi-family residences. Our goal is to provide extraordinary service on every project no matter the size.
